2025 - OPIOID AWARENESS POSTER CONTEST
QAC 6th-12th grade students in public, private, and homeschool settings are invited to join the 2025 Opioid Awareness Poster Contest.
Winning students will be required to complete consent forms upon notification. Waivers will be sent to the winners and their parents or guardians.
You don’t have to be an artist to participate! Students are encouraged to create positive, impactful messages paired with original artwork, including drawings, paintings, sketches, photos or AI-generated images. The goal is to raise community awareness about opioid issues through creativity.
Remember your messages must be “positive”, so get creative and design one of the winning posters! Go to QACGoesPurple.org for the contest rules and suggested messages.
One winner per participating group!
The groups are: Centreville Middle School, Matapeake Middle School, Stevensville Middle School, Sudlersville Middle School, Kent Island High School, Queen Anne’s County High School, Private/Homeschoolers (This group includes Faith Christian School 9th -12th, The Gunston School, Wye River Upper School & QAC 9th - 12th Grade homeschoolers.)

Middle Schoolers (6th - 8th Graders) - $300.00 Amazon Gift Card
High Schoolers (9th - 12th Graders) - Choice of $300.00 Amazon gift card OR a FREE Driver’s Education Course

CONTEST RULES:
Deadline for all entries is February 14, 2025 (Midnight)!
If you want to reference a “Help Line” on your poster, you must use one of these numbers:

Entries can be submitted as a “hard copy” (8 ½” x 11” paper). Any medium can be utilized (Example: chalk, paint, markers, water colors etc.), photos or AI images.
Entries can also be submitted digitally (PDF Files with “Print Quality”).
DO NOT bend, fold, or roll hard copy entries!
All hard copy entries should be turned in to the front office at your school. Homeschoolers can turn their entries into the receptionist at the Board of Education. (202 Chesterfield Ave. Centreville, MD) - Make sure you put your name, grade, and email address on the back of your entry!

Digital entries should be sent to julie.kille@qacps.org. You must put “POSTER CONTEST”, your name, grade, and school on the subject line of the email.
All entries should support the Opioid Awareness theme.
There must be a minimum of (8) entries in a participating group for a winner to be selected.
All messages should be expressed in a positive & supportive manner.

Use your imagination and be as creative as possible!
All entries must be appropriate for a broad audience.
Entries should not depict any copyrighted characters or trademarks. Images and messages should not be “negative”. Images should not include disturbing graphics such as: skulls, tombstones, etc.

Judges from the QAC Drug Free Coalition will select winners from each participating group based on expression of theme, creativity, originality, visual clarity, spelling & grammar, broad audience appeal & educational value.
Winners agree to allow reproduction of their entries for use as advertisements in a variety of media sources selected by the OEPC & QAC DFC.
