2025 - OPIOID AWARENESS COMMERCIAL CONTEST
This is your chance to take a stand against substance abuse in Queen Anne’s before it is too late!
All QAC 6th - 12th graders are encouraged to participate!
Winning students will be required to complete consent forms upon notification. Waivers will be sent to the winners and their parents or guardians.
The theme for the commercial is:
Queen Anne’s is Taking a Stand Against Opioid Abuse!
Prize: $500 - Donated by Economy Tree Service
Competition Requirements:
Each QAC youth group/organization can submit one entry for the contest!
An adult is responsible for the final entry meeting all of the requirements to be a valid entry.
Facts that can be utilized to support productions for this competition can be found on the QACGoesPurple.org website under Commercial Competition.
Entries must support the theme & be presented in a positive/supportive manner.
Use your imagination and be as creative as possible.
All entries must be age appropriate for a broad audience.
Commercials should not be longer than 30 seconds.
Videos can be filmed on iPhones.
Format should be at least 1080p video and .mp4 or .mov file.
Entries must follow all copyright and public domain guidelines.
Entries should be uploaded to YouTube. Creating a YouTube account and uploading videos can both be done for FREE.
The Visibility setting on uploaded videos can be set to either "Public" (accessible by anyone) or "Unlisted" (only visible to those with the video URL) in order for your video to qualify.

Once your video has been uploaded, submit the video's URL via email to julie.kille@qacps.org. The subject line should be “Commercial Competition”.

The deadline for all entries is February 14, 2025 at midnight.
The winning entry will need to have waivers for all students and adults that appear in the video or have their names in the commercial. Youth Group Leaders, Principals or Headmasters will also need to sign waivers.
Signing waivers grants permission to utilize the commercial on all social media platforms.
The winning youth group will:
Be invited to a County Commissioners' Meeting for recognition
Have their commercial aired on various social media platforms
Be awarded a stipend of $500.00 for their group/organization to purchase needed equipment/materials to support their group.
Be recognized in the Shore Update.
